Metamorphic Geology

The metamorphic geology group studies the metamorphic evolution of the crust via the combination of field petrologic and phase equilibria methods. Key areas of research include the investigation of metamorphic processes such as the production and evolution of fluid and melt in the crust, the derivation of quantitative P-T-t histories of metamorphic belts, the development of thermodynamic models for minerals and melt and the application of these to metamorphic rocks.
